Our client supplies equipment and products to the wine, beer and beverage market. With more than 20 years’ experience, they are one of the leading distributors in South Africa through for German and Italian suppliers (Erbslöh, Armbruster, Willmes, Flottweg, Eaton, and TMCI).
The staff consists of technical and commercial salespeople, alongside equipment technicians for installation, commissioning and after-sales.
Requirements
- Recently trade tested Millwright who has worked in a precision fitting and service environment as a SiteTechnician
- Relevant experience in FMCG / wine/ beverage / beer / waste water industry
- A good understanding of electrical and precision fitting is required.
- Knowledge of flow meter, PLC and frequency inverters advantageous
- Traveling is required – technicians travel only 20-30% of the time, but candidates must be willing to travel 50% of the time. Traveling is mostly in South Africa with around 2-4 trips a year in Swaziland, Kenya, Tanzania or Namibia.
- Working hours 08:00-17:00 – overtime required during wine harvest season; breakdown standby throughout the year may be required (out of town allowances are paid for every night out of town on site work.)
- Location: Candidate must preferably be based in Paarl or surrounding towns/area (Wellington, Franschhoek, Stellenbosch, Klapmuts, Brackenfell, Durbanville)
- Candidates will be sent to Germany and Italy for special training courses on some of the equipment.
Duties
- Install and service process equipment in wine, beer, beverage and waste water industries.
- Job card skills and client management – report directly to the Technical Manager
The company does not produce any parts or machines themselves – no turning work is done on the premises.
Remuneration – Cash Component + Company Car + Cellphone + Medical aid and 13th bonus Cheq.
