Overview

 

The client is seeking an experienced Senior Administrator to manage the administration of our long-term insurance, employee benefits, and investment portfolios.

This is a key operational role within the practice, supporting advisers and ensuring the smooth processing and servicing of client business.

The successful candidate must be highly organised, experienced in the South African financial services environment, and comfortable working independently.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Administration of long-term insurance policies (life, disability, severe illness, income protection)
  • Administration and servicing of investment portfolios across major platforms
  • Administration and servicing of medical aid and gap cover policies
  • Management and processing of Employee Benefits (EB) schemes, including:

o monthly contribution submissions

o member updates

o liaising with payroll departments and insurers

 

  • Processing of:

o new business applications

o policy amendments

o withdrawals and switches

o debit order changes

o beneficiary updates

 

  • Liaising with insurers and platforms such as:

o Old Mutual

o Sanlam

o Momentum

o Discovery

o Glacier / Allan Gray / similar investment platforms

 

  • Monitoring outstanding requirements and ensuring completion of new business
  • Supporting advisers with quotations and product information
  • Handling client servicing requests and queries
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation in accordance with FAIS and FICA requirements

 

Requirements

  • Minimum 5–10 years’ experience in a financial advisory practice or similar environment
  • Strong knowledge of:

o Long-term insurance products

o Investment platforms

o Employee Benefits administration

 

  • Experience dealing directly with insurers and investment providers
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Professional communication skills when dealing with clients and providers

 

Additional Information

  • This is a key operational role within the firm
  • The candidate must be able to take ownership of the administration function and work closely with advisers
  • Experience in an independent financial advisory practice will be advantageous
  • Salary: Market-related and negotiable depending on experience
