This critical position supports financial operations and fruit procurement processes, ensuring accurate reporting and efficient system management across depots, cold rooms, and factory sites.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
• Ensure depot staff are adequately trained on the Fruit Procurement System (FPS)
• Monitor and enforce adherence to processing protocols at depots
• Reconcile daily depot intake reports with FPS data
• Reconcile dispatches from depots to the factory and cold room intake
• Correct and reverse inaccurate transactions where necessary
• Perform daily checks to verify intake data accuracy
• Reconcile cold room stock with daily reports and factory usage
• Attend cold room and monthly plant stock counts
• Oversee ongoing bin reconciliations through the bin controller
• Travel between depots to support operational accuracy and compliance
• Collaborate with Agricultural Specialists to open new vendor accounts in Syspro
• Track seasonal price changes and special deals in liaison with the Agricultural team
• Post daily fruit receipts into the Syspro ERP system
• Prepare and submit accurate payment files to the creditors department
• Support the Financial Manager with monthly flash reporting
• Assist in compiling the annual budget and quarterly forecasts
• Prepare transport cost summaries and verify invoice entries in financial systems
• Monitor fruit procurement expenses and ensure timely accruals
• Process ad hoc invoices related to seasonal procurement
• Carry out other ad hoc finance duties as assigned by the Financial Manager
Required Qualifications and Experience
• BCom Accounting Degree
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar financial role, preferably in the agriculture sector
• Registration with a recognized Accounting Professional Body (advantageous)
• Strong proficiency in MS Office with advanced Excel skills
• Experience with the Syspro ERP system will be a strong advantage
• Excellent communication skills in English and Afrikaans
• High attention to detail and accuracy in data handling
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with analytical capabilities
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Strong sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines under pressure
• Valid driver’s license and own vehicle essential
• Clear criminal record required
