Duties & Responsibilities
Blending Department and Freezer Room
The receipt of concentrate and aroma from production and its storage.
The receipt and storage of concentrate from other suppliers (trade).
Inventory management and control (reconciliations).
Stock keeping and control (reconciliations).
Planning, scheduling and coordinating the shipment of product according to marketing instructions (local as well as export).
Responsible for blending, preparation and packaging of concentrate in order to comply with client specifications.
Comply with system requirements regarding the financial and production system.
Making arrangements for the transport of product.
Equipment
Ensure that equipment / machines are operated optimally and in the correct manner.
Liaise with engineering department regarding equipment requiring maintenance / upkeep.
Human Resources
Handles performance management of subordinates.
Operates a system of visual management in order to improve team and individual performance.
Coaching / training of personnel.
Application of discipline
The optimal utilization of human resources.
Quality and Safety
Manage the department, equipment and human resources according to quality principles as incorporated in the FSSC system
Report all problems related to Food Safety and / or quality to your Manager/Food SafetyTeam.
Initiate corrective actions and keep a record of any food safety problems reported
Safety and loss control in the department
Ensure that housekeeping / cleanliness and hygiene are up to standard
Compliance with legal safety requirements in the department
Cost Management
Assists with budget preparation.
Manages costs relative to budget.
Desired Experience & Qualification
A relevant tertiary qualification.
Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Distribution / Logistics Manager in a FMCG company – the distribution function should entail the loading of containers for shipping purposes
Knowledge of ERP systems and Excel
Negotiation and client liaison skills
Fluency in Afrikaans and English
Basic production management experience
Excellent planning and forecasting skills – a highly organised individual
Attention to detail – strong admin and reporting skills
High levels of assertiveness
Drive
Must reside in a 30 km radius from Ceres
