The client sells measuring equipment and services related to compressed air and gas measurements
Requirements
-Ideally a person with some work experience with compressed air/ gases
– Definitely experience with measuring equipment/ sensor technology
– On site visits are essential – so drivers licence required
– Willingness to go the extra mile to assist customers on-site with either installations or even some
testing / auditing work, this includes leak detection, air quality measurements and compressed air
system optimisation audits.
– Potential to move up to Sales Manager and later to Branch Manager role.
– Must be okay to get your hands dirty at times (for example leak detection is a long process in
sometimes dirty environments, old voids where the pipes are running).
– Excellent people and sales skills
– Ability to speak English and Afrikaans – deal with mines in the North West and Limpopo provinces
– Preference will be given to EE applicants
Duties
Prospecting and Lead Generation**
1. – **Identify and Research Prospects**: Target potential customers by researching industries and companies that use compressed air systems.
– **Networking**: Attend industry events, trade shows, and conferences to establish and nurture contacts.
– **Cold Calling and Emailing**: Reach out to potential clients through calls and emails to introduce products and services.
– **Leverage CRM Tools**: Use Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software to track leads, opportunities, and follow-ups.
2. **Customer Engagement and Relationship Management**
– **Client Meetings**: Schedule and conduct meetings with existing and potential clients to understand their needs and present solutions.
– **Product Demonstrations**: Provide live demonstrations of compressed air measuring equipment to showcase features and benefits.
– **Consultative Selling**: Offer expert advice and tailored solutions based on customer requirements.
– **Build and Maintain Relationships**: Develop strong, long-term relationships with clients to encourage repeat business and referrals.
– **Service Offerings**: Carry out services like leak detection, compressed air quality measurements and compressed air system audits when required.
3. **Sales and Quotation Management**
– **Prepare Proposals and Quotes**: Create and present detailed proposals and quotations for compressed air measuring equipment and related services.
– **Negotiate Terms**: Discuss and negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions to close sales agreements.
– **Track Sales Progress**: Monitor sales activities and follow up on pending deals to ensure timely closure.
4. **Market and Product Knowledge**
– **Stay Informed**: Keep up-to-date with industry trends, new technologies, and competitors’ products.
– **Product Training**: Continuously educate yourself about the features, benefits, and technical aspects of the equipment you sell.
– **Market Analysis**: Analyse market trends and customer feedback to adjust sales strategies and identify new opportunities.
5. **Sales Administration and Reporting**
– **Maintain Sales Records**: Document sales activities, customer interactions, and feedback in the CRM system.
– **Prepare Sales Reports**: Generate regular reports on sales performance, forecasts, and market conditions for management review.
– **Manage Orders and Follow-Up**: Ensure timely processing of orders, manage delivery schedules, and follow up to address any post-sale issues.
6. **Customer Support and After-Sales Service**
– **Address Inquiries and Issues**: Respond promptly to customer inquiries, concerns, and requests for support.
– **Provide After-Sales Support**: Assist with installation, calibration, and troubleshooting of equipment as needed.
– **Gather Feedback**: Collect and analyse customer feedback to improve service quality and product offerings.
7. **Training and Development**
– **Participate in Training**: Engage in ongoing training programs to enhance sales skills and technical knowledge.
– **Share Knowledge**: Communicate insights and best practices with the sales team to improve overall performance.
8. **Compliance and Ethics**
– **Follow Company Policies**: Adhere to company policies, procedures, and ethical standards in all sales activities.
