NPD Food Technologist:
This position will report to the Business Development manager.
To be considered, you need:
● Food Science Degree / Food Technology Diploma / Consumer Science Diploma; Chef School Diploma
● Minimum 3 – 5 years’ experience in product development; knowledge of flavour and food trends
● Knowledge of food legislation
● Computer literate
● Excellent verbal and written communication
● Strong project management and coordination skill
● The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
● Sense of urgency and high attention to detail
● A passionate and knowledgeable foodie – passion for food and cooking
● Creative thinker that’s solution orientated; ability to use initiative
● Active and energetic
● Must be able to take the lead
● Able to travel when required
Your duties will include:
1. Practical product and recipe development
2. Raw material sourcing, testing and evaluation
3. Kitchen and factory trials, cooking instructions, ingredient declaration, preparing mock-up samples for tastings
4. Manage product development process within given deadlines and ensure that the product conforms to the company’s and customers’ requirements.
5. Internal and external production process technical support
6. Involved in product presentations by preparing samples
7. Research and innovative ideas
8. Scientific factory reports
9. Other duties as assigned
