The client is South Africa’s preferred producer and marketer of apple and pear juices concentrate, as well as a range of other concentrates and purees, have the following employment opportunity at their factory in the beautiful town of Ceres, Western Cape.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Manager: Engineering Services and the responsibilities of the position include the following key performance areas:
- Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHS Act) through internal audits.
- Implement and maintain NOSA standards and conduct annual external and internal audits.
- Develop and enforce policies, procedures, work instructions, and safety pictograms.
- Drive safety objectives via the HSE management system and conduct annual reviews.
- Oversee departmental safety meetings and documentation.
- Conduct risk and impact assessments and maintain emergency plans.
- Develop and deliver training materials and induction presentations to raise employee awareness.
- Manage legal registers, SHE statistics, document control, and HSE intranet upkeep.
- Assistance with utility data (water/electricity) and engineering support.
- Oversee plant availability statistics, access control systems, and HSE appointments.
Qualifications and Skills
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Safety Management (NOSA, SAMTRAC or equivalent).
· Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar position.
- Strong knowledge of OHS Act and legal compliance requirements.
- Proven experience with NOSA systems and HSE management frameworks.
- Proven ability to conduct audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
- Strong organizational skills for document control and compliance tracking.
- Excellent administrative abilities, computer literacy and experience in drafting technical documents.
