Job Specification

 

Reporting to the Logistics Manager, the incumbent will co-ordinate, motivate and supervise the operational activities of the Swartland Fuel Distribution Centre located Moorreesburg or the depot in Addo, Easten Cape (depending on which area you prefer).

 

The incumbent will be responsible for the overall management of the Fuel Distribution Centre operations, including customer service, the management of a 3PL road tanker operator, route scheduling, fuel storage and handling operations, HAZOP, SHEQ and establishing and maintaining fuel storage and dispensing equipment at customers’ premises.

Key performance indicators

Growth

  • Identification and onboarding of new customers
  • Establishment of new on-site fuel storage and dispensing equipment on customers’ premises.
  • Depot and road tanker security and safety
  • Road tanker and static storage capacity optimisation
  • Management of stock & fuel distribution centre assets
  • Environmental management compliance
  • Safe handling and storing of fuel (hazardous material)

 

Optimisation

  • Route planning & optimisation
  • Statutory, Financial & Administrative compliance
  • Ad hoc tasks related to the aforementioned

 Leveraging Culture & Diversity

  • Maintain internal & external stakeholder relations
  • Utilise networks for new business opportunities
  • Establish and maintain key customer relationships

Minimum Requirements

  • BCom degree or National Diploma (preferably in Logistics or Marketing)
  • 3 years related experience – logistics
  • Experience of fuel storage and handling operations and fuel road tanker fleet management would be an advantage
  • Computer literacy
  • Valid code EB license

 

The incumbent will be required to work irregular hours related to dynamic fuel supply and demand conditions
